Kaongo is a commercial lawyer having been admitted to the Zambian Bar in 2006 to practice law in the High Court of Zambia. He has key experience in commercial law, civil aviation law and litigation having worked in a private law firm specializing in commercial law as well as being in-house Legal Counsel and Board Secretary for Zambia Airports Corporation Limited.
He is a member of the Law Association of Zambia and an advocate of the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Zambia. He is also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).
Relevant key assignments undertaken
- Receiver for various Banks including Investrust; Atlas Mara and Indo Zambia Banks with a combined amount of over US$8 million;
- Litigation in civil, commercial and labour matters on behalf of various Corporate and individual clients including Barloworld Equipment Zambia Ltd, Investrust Bank Plc ,SeedCo Zambia Limited, Standard Chartered Bank among others;
- Debt recoveries for various corporates including Standard Chartered Bank, First Capital Bank, Atlas Mara, Investrust Bank, Madison Finance, Betternow Finance among others;
- Corporate Advisory and compliance for Zambia Airports Corporation Limited, Barloworld equipment, Mopani Copper Mines Plc among others; and
- Board Secretarial work, contract scrutiny of all local and international Service Level Agreements and lease financing agreements for Zambia Airports Corporation Limited.
